A
meeting of the Glencoe Neighborhood Homeowners’ Association
board was called to order on Tuesday, April 24, 2006, by
President Joe Verderber at 6:05 p.m. at the home of Michael
and Kathleen O’Connor. In attendance were Joe Verderber,
George Gates, Doug Mory and Michael O’Connor. A quorum was
therefore present.
In
Memoriam of Judith Bear Isroff
The
Board of Trustees of the Glencoe Neighborhood Homeowners’
Association deeply regrets the passing of Judith Bear Isroff.
Judy was our cherished friend, neighbor and a valued member
of the Glencoe Board. The neighborhood will greatly miss
Judy’s spirit, intelligence and kindness. We would like to
express our deepest condolences to our neighbor Cliff, their
son and daughter and their grandchildren.
Reports and Discussion
Treasurer’s Report
§
On behalf of
Ray Jirousek, Joe Verderber passed along the information
that there is $52,972 in the Glencoe Neighborhood
Homeowner’s Association checking account and $140,852 in
certificates of deposit.
§
With minor
exceptions, homeowners are current with the monthly dues
payments.
§
All current
invoices from vendors and other suppliers have been paid.
§
Budget details
are available at
www.glencoehomeowners.com.
Appointment of Glencoe Board Member
§
Joe Verderber
moved to appoint Pam Fisher as Secretary and Trustee of the
Glencoe Neighborhood Homeowners’ Association to fill the
vacancy created by the death of Judy Isroff. George Gates
seconded the motion and it was unanimously approved.
Maintenance Report
§
Doug Morey
reported that five Glencoe homes will be re-stained in 2006
at the same price per home that was paid in 2004. The total
cost for re-staining the five homes this year is $25,600. We
have been tentatively informed that work will commence June
26, 2006 and will require 5 to 6 weeks for completion.
Homeowners whose homes are scheduled for re-staining will be
notified as to when work will begin. The re-staining paid
for by the Association’s reserves does not cover the cost of
restaining decks. Deck re-staining is the responsibility of
the homeowner and will not be done in conjunction with the
house re-staining unless the homeowner makes private
arrangements with the painting contractor.
§
Turfscape is
our new landscaping service. At this point, we are satisfied
with the work Turfscape is doing.
§
The wetlands
located behind the developer’s office and the Hutchinson,
Muren, Isroff and Buxton homes was given minor clean-up last
fall. The Trustees are awaiting proposals as to what could
be done to make the wetland less unsightly and an asset to
our neighborhood. Proposals and estimates are being sought
from three contractors.
Amendments
The
Board desires to improve and facilitate communication
between the Board and Glencoe homeowners. Toward that end,
the Board considered and adopted the following amendments to
the CODE OF REGULATIONS OF GLENCOE NEIGHBOPRHOOD HOMEOWNERS’
ASSOCIATION, INC.
§
Article IV,
Section 1: Records. After the 3rd sentence,
insert the following sentence: The Financial statement
may be distributed to members by being posted on the
Association’s Web site,
www.glencoehomeowners.com to which members have access.
§
Article V,
Section 3: Notice of Meetings. After the 2nd
sentence, insert the following sentence:
E-mail notification may, at the option of the Trustees,
substitute for U.S.P.S. mail.
§
Article VII,
Section 8: In the 2nd sentence, after the words,
“by mail.”, add “e-mail,”.
§
Article X:
Section 7: At the end of the section, add the sentence:
An e-mail notification of the amendments and the posting of
the amendments on the Association’s Web site,
www.glencoehomeowners.com will serve as a furnished copy
of each amendment.
Joe
Verderber moved to approve these amendments and George Gates
seconded. All approved.
Annual Glencoe Homeowners’ Meeting
§
The annual
Glencoe Homeowners’ meeting will be held Tuesday, June 20,
2006, at 6:30 p.m. at Stancato’s Restaurant in Richfield.
Damaged
Hemlock
§
The Trustees
discussed the hemlock at the west end of the island between
West Glencoe Rd. and Thistle Court. The hemlock was bent
over by the heavy wet snow last year and is leaning over
into the roadway. All agreed that each Trustee would
inspect the area and determine whether or not to accept
Turfscape’s recommendation that the hemlock be removed. If
removal is in order, One or more of the Trustees will remove
it rather than contracting with Turfscape.
The
meeting was adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Michael
O’Connor (acting for the Secretary) |
